Really happy with the Fairview 55, which was accepted as a carry-on on all her flights; only the shape of the 15L bag wasn't great.

A week into a year-long Asia trip, she is pleased with her Fairview 55 packing; mostly warm layers needed as she heads to colder Mongolia.

Doesn't use the Fairview 55's small backpack; without it the main bag fits the carry-on sizer even for Frontier.
“I have an osprey 55L Fairview and I don’t use the small backpack that comes with it.”
Bought the Fairview 55 as a carry-on and likes the clamshell opening and small-item compartments; the daypack was better than expected.

Loves the Fairview 55 at 5'2": roomy, adjustable frame, neutral color and good internal organization.
“I have the fairview55, which is basically the 40 but with the attachable day pack.”
Lives out of the Fairview 55 with daypack; more than enough room, adaptable, carried both on an 18 km hike, and fits as a carry-on if not overpacked.
“I have the Osprey Fairview 55 and attachable day pack. I packed it twice locally and lived out of it for a week (making some changes) before travelling.”
Owns both and found the Fairview 55 too big; zipping things into the daypack pushes the center of gravity back and is uncomfortable, so she wishes she had bought the 40.
“because I initially bought the 55 and found it too big. Especially if you pack things in the day pack and zip it on it brings the center of gravity so far back that”
Found the Fairview 55L a perfect size for three weeks in Japan and Korea but too large to carry on packed to the brim, and heavy at 5'2" and 115 lb.
“My bf and I both used the 55L for our 3 week trip to Japan/Korea and found it to be perfect size, but we did pack to the brim so it was definitely too”
Loves the Fairview 55L but finds it annoying that it can't fold and may not pass as carry-on even half full; likes the basic, pocket-rich daypack.
“I love the 55L but it’s really annoying that you can’t fold it, even if you don’t overpack and leave plenty of space the back of the back is reinforced (which is nice for”
